Our take
What does Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde smell like?
In 2014 Guerlain added Limon Verde to its Aqua Allegoria collection, which dates back to 1999. Thierry Wasser took the caipirinha as his starting point. The opening pairs two limes, one of them reworked to feel brighter. A drop of cachaça joins them. The zest is sharp and you can smell the hint of alcohol. Then it softens. Green and watery notes suggest damp vegetation, with a discreet fig. The base is sweet without weight. Tonka and cane sugar recall the bottom of the glass. This is a summer eau de toilette made to be sprayed freely. As often in the line, it doesn't last long. Next to Pamplelune, the grapefruit Aqua Allegoria, Limon Verde is greener and sweeter. It works just as well on men as on women. Keep it in the fridge for summer.
