What does Fusion d'Issey smell like?
Issey Miyake added Fusion d'Issey to its men's line in 2020. Nathalie Lorson composed this aromatic fougère, which the brand calls solar and mineral. The opening is unusual for Issey. Creamy coconut milk meets fig nectar, while lemon keeps things crisp for the first half hour. The heart heads back to classic ground. Rosemary and geranium build the fougère frame and cardamom adds a peppery chill. A milky sandalwood links back to the coconut. The base is modern: ambroxan, woody notes and a bit of patchouli. It smells more like sun warmed skin than the sea. L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme from 1994 is more aquatic and more citrusy with its yuzu. Fusion d'Issey is softer and more gourmand. The coconut and rosemary pairing splits people. Some smell sunscreen, others a genuine idea.

A holiday and weekend scent for May through September. Three sprays on the neck and chest.
