Our take
What does L'Eau d'Issey Pure Nectar de Parfum smell like?
Issey Miyake added Pure Nectar de Parfum to the L'Eau d'Issey Pure line in early 2018. Dominique Ropion and Fanny Bal composed it, two perfumers with long track records in commercial florals. The brief was clear enough: warm up the crystal-clear L'Eau d'Issey with honey. It opens on juicy pear glazed with a slightly sticky honey note. The heart brings back the house rose and its aquatic accord. You still get that spring-water feel, only softer and less chilly. Cashmeran takes over in the base and smells like clean wool, followed by amber and sandalwood. Nothing heavy here. Set against the 1992 L'Eau d'Issey with its watery lotus and melon, Pure Nectar comes across rounder and sweeter. It also loses some character along the way. This is a comfort scent built to please from the first spray, and it manages that with no effort at all.
When to wear it
A honeyed floral for spring and mild days, fine for the office or the weekend. Three sprays will do: the pear fades fast but the musky base stays close to the skin until evening.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. L'Eau d'Issey Pure Nectar de Parfum is one of 11 creations by Issey Miyake in our encyclopedia.
