What does Nuit d'Issey smell like?
Launched in 2014, Nuit d’Issey sidesteps the aquatic freshness that made the house famous. The opening is still bright: bergamot, grapefruit and pink pepper give a tangy, almost fizzy start. But the heart soon darkens the scene with supple leather, dry black pepper and a lightly smoky incense. The base combines patchouli, vetiver and a discreet tonka, adding just enough sweetness to round the edges. The contrast between citrus sparkle and dark leather is the whole point: you move from day to night in minutes. The result is modern and mineral without heaviness, versatile enough for the office too.
When to wear it
For cool weather, evenings or the office; it suits men who like dark woods that aren’t overpowering.
