Our take
What does Gentle Fluidity Gold smell like?
Francis Kurkdjian introduced Gentle Fluidity in 2019 as a pair, Silver and Gold. The idea fits in one line: the same materials at different doses, giving two opposite perfumes. Gold is the warm one. Juniper berries open on a resinous note that recalls gin, and nutmeg adds a soft pepper. Coriander bridges the gap and keeps things dry. Then the vanilla arrives and takes over. It is nothing like a bakery. Musk smooths it out while amberwood gives it a dry radiance that carries far. On skin it suggests a wool sweater left near a fireplace. Compared with Baccarat Rouge 540 by the same perfumer, Gold is spicier and less sugary. It shares that same projection though, the kind people notice in an elevator. Silver, its twin, stays cooler and more metallic.
When to wear it
A cold-weather scent for evenings or a lazy Sunday. One or two sprays at most, because the amberwood is strong.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber family. Gentle Fluidity Gold is one of 7 creations by Maison Francis Kurkdjian in our encyclopedia.
