Our take
What does Khamrah smell like?
Lattafa released Khamrah in 2022 with no perfumer credited. The name points to wine in Arabic, and the opening does feel boozy: cinnamon and nutmeg warm a bergamot that vanishes within minutes. Then the date takes over. It is honeyed and almost pasty, sitting on toasted praline, with tuberose kept in the background. The base sinks into dense vanilla made creamy by tonka bean and benzoin. Myrrh adds a cool, churchy edge. A very dry amberwood and peppery akigalawood stop the whole thing from becoming syrup. People often bring up Kilian's Angels' Share when they describe it, mostly for that liqueur-soaked cinnamon effect. Khamrah is fruitier and a good deal sweeter. On a wool coat it lasts for days.
When to wear it
Cold-weather scent for nights out or dinner for two. Two sprays are plenty, and three will fill a closed room.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber, Gourmand family. Khamrah is one of 4 creations by Lattafa in our encyclopedia.
