Our take
What does Aura Sensuelle smell like?
Two years after Aura, Mugler released a softer take in 2019 called Aura Sensuelle. The faceted heart bottle stayed, now veiled in pearly pink. The perfumer was not named. Structurally it is a floral musk, the same family as the original. The opening blends cinnamon leaf with tender greenery, inherited from the tiger liana that already ran through Aura. Gardenia shows up fast. It gives the heart a rich, creamy texture that recalls an expensive sun lotion. A strong white musk then takes over and sandalwood lays it down on a smooth and warm base that lasts. Compared with Aura, which is greener and stranger, Sensuelle sands down every edge. What it gains in comfort it loses in character. The result sits close to the floral musks you meet everywhere, with just enough cinnamon to stay recognisable.
When to wear it
A skin scent for spring and autumn that works well on a date. Use three sprays because the musk builds slowly and then lasts all day.
It belongs to the Floral, Musky family. Aura Sensuelle is one of 23 creations by Mugler in our encyclopedia.
