Our take
What does Femme Individuelle smell like?
In 2004 Montblanc added Femme Individuelle to its Individuel line, an eau de toilette filed as an oriental floral. Sources disagree on who composed it, so we leave the perfumer out. The opening is the best part. Pink pepper stings, red currant brings a red sourness and bay leaf adds a green, almost kitchen-like line. That is a lot of character for a perfume from a pen maker. Rose comes next, propped up by a watery lotus that stops it from turning heavy. The base changes mood. Patchouli, vanilla and amber spread a soft warmth while musk pulls everything close to the skin. The trail is comfortable and a little sweet without becoming dessert. Next to Présence d'une Femme, the house's other women's scent, Femme Individuelle feels fruitier and less woody. What it lacks is one strong idea that would make it stick.
When to wear it
Good for autumn days, at the office or for a quiet evening. Three sprays on the chest and wrists give it presence without overdoing it.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Femme Individuelle is one of 19 creations by Montblanc in our encyclopedia.
