Our take
What does Ralph's Club smell like?
Ralph Lauren launched Ralph’s Club in 2021 as an eau de parfum. Dominique Ropion built it around an imaginary club inspired by the Roaring Twenties. Clary sage opens with lavandin. You get dry herbs and a lavender more camphorous than the fine kind. The heart moves to Virginia cedar, clean with a hint of pencil shavings. Vetiver closes with its earthy and slightly smoky side. It stays very readable, with few materials and a clear structure. Next to Bleu de Chanel, it has more lavender and less citrus. The comparison still holds, as both aim at the man who wants to smell clean without smelling of shower gel. A warmer Parfum version followed. The square, dark and heavy bottle suggests a whisky glass set down on a bar. On skin, the sage lingers longer than the lavender. The drydown is the most pleasant stage, when the vetiver settles in.
When to wear it
A safe pick for the office and evenings, in spring or autumn. Three sprays are plenty, and the cedar holds well on a shirt.
It belongs to the Woody, Aromatic family. Ralph's Club is one of 10 creations by Ralph Lauren in our encyclopedia.
