What does Azzaro Sport smell like?
Azzaro released Azzaro Sport in 2022 as part of a line built around the gym and the outdoors. The house has not named the perfumer. Grapefruit runs the opening. A touch of pineapple makes it juicier and sweeter than you would expect from a fougère. The heart then falls back on house habits. Clary sage brings its dry, faintly musky herb smell. Lavandin adds a clean ironed-cotton note that is rougher than true lavender. The base is short and polished. Creamy sandalwood and tonka leave a quiet sweetness on skin. It recalls Azzaro pour Homme from 1978 in a lighter key, with less anise and less moss and hardly any barbershop. This is a locker-room scent that has no plans to last until dinner. On skin the grapefruit turns slightly bitter after twenty minutes, which we actually prefer to the sweet start.
When to wear it
Spray it after a shower or before training on a warm day. It fades within three or four hours, so a travel spray in the gym bag helps.
