What does Valentino Donna Acqua smell like?
Sonia Constant, who composed Valentino Donna in 2015, made a summer version two years later. Donna Acqua came out in 2017 as an eau de toilette. The opening is unusual. A rice accord gives a clean, floury note. Almond brings milkiness and frosted pear brings coolness. The heart opens on frangipani and jasmine, creamy flowers that hawthorn turns greener. The base stays soft. Roasted tonka, benzoin and sandalwood leave warm skin that is barely sweet. Next to Valentino Donna, with its iris and leather, Acqua is far lighter. The name suggests something marine, yet there are no aquatic notes here at all. It is harder to find in stores these days. On skin the almond lasts longest, and it smells faintly like a warm rice pudding. It is a gentle scent made for heat.

A summer daytime scent that suits the office. Three sprays, and it stays close to the skin.
