Our take
What does Valentina Pink smell like?
Valentina Pink came out in March 2015 as a limited edition. The bottle keeps Valentina's big flower on top, now painted an opaque pink. Daphné Bugey and Fabrice Pellegrin reworked the 2011 original to push the fruit forward. The opening smells of crushed strawberry and blackberry. A touch of musk softens it from the start. The heart is all about roses. May rose and centifolia rose meet a fresh, rather watery peony. The base is surprisingly light. Cashmeran brings a woolly woodiness and Ambroxan a diffuse warmth. A quiet praline adds just enough sugar without turning it into dessert. Next to Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, another rose and peony that was everywhere at the time, Valentina Pink reads fruitier and more like a sweet shop. Like any limited edition, it is getting hard to find.
When to wear it
A fair weather scent for a picnic or a date on a café terrace. Two sprays are enough, the praline does the rest.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Valentina Pink is one of 12 creations by Valentino in our encyclopedia.
