Our take
What does Quatre pour Homme smell like?
Boucheron released Quatre pour Homme in 2015 as a companion to Quatre, its four-band ring. The bottle copies the ring's grooves. Tendance Parfums credits the formula to Antoine Maisondieu. It opens green and sharp. Violet leaf smells like a crushed stem, while lime and bergamot add bite. In the heart, artemisia brings a bitter, herbal edge that mainstream men's scents rarely touch. Geranium and lavender soften it with a rosy, almost barbershop feel. The base stays light, closer to a summer shirt than to a winter coat. Labdanum and patchouli add a little shade. A driftwood accord gives a dry, salty impression of sea-bleached timber. Overall it's greener and more herbal than Bleu de Chanel, with less amber underneath. What it lacks is a real hook. Nothing here is unpleasant, but nothing lingers in the mind either.
When to wear it
A daytime scent for spring and summer that stays polite at the office. Use three sprays, since longevity is only average.
It belongs to the Floral, Woody, Musky family. Quatre pour Homme is one of 18 creations by Boucheron in our encyclopedia.
