Our take
What does CK IN2U Him smell like?
Launched in 2007, CK IN2U was a his and hers pair with a name spelled like a text message. Four perfumers worked on the men's version: Bruno Jovanovic, Carlos Benaïm, Jean-Marc Chaillan and Loc Dong. The opening pairs tangelo, a cross of mandarin and pomelo, with a gin fizz accord. Picture a lemony cocktail served very cold. The heart is stranger. Shiso, the Japanese leaf somewhere between mint and basil, meets cocoa and a pinch of pimento. The cocoa stays light and gives a warm background with nothing dessert-like about it. The base blends musk, vetiver and white cedar. It's fresh and unpretentious, typical of the light men's scents of the late 2000s. Compared with CK One, the house's unisex ancestor, IN2U Him is fruitier and a bit sweeter. It smells young without being silly.
