What does Girl of Now Shine smell like?
Elie Saab released Girl of Now Shine in 2018, a year after Girl of Now. Dominique Ropion and Sophie Labbé, who wrote the original, signed this flanker too. Pistachio and almond stay at the center. The big addition comes up top: juicy pineapple and pear make the opening sunnier. Roasted pistachio shows up quickly. It brings a salty-biscuit side that keeps things from turning into syrup. The heart mixes orange blossom, ylang-ylang and jasmine. Those white flowers nod to the house signature without taking over. The base lays down powdery iris, patchouli and vanilla. It smells like pistachio ice cream eaten on a beach towel. Compared with Girl of Now, which is milkier and more polite, Shine is fruitier and more summery. Longevity is good for a light eau de parfum.
When to wear it
A summer gourmand for daytime or dinner on a terrace. Two sprays and the vanilla does the rest.
