Our take
What does Le Parfum Rose Couture smell like?
Elie Saab introduced Le Parfum Rose Couture in February 2016, as an eau de toilette only. Francis Kurkdjian, who wrote the 2011 Le Parfum, composed this variation. The opening pairs bergamot with peony for a rosy freshness without sourness. Rose then steps forward. It stays young and fizzy, far from candied rose. Jasmine and orange blossom nod to the original while a honeyed note rounds out the heart. The base brings back patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla. So Rose Couture keeps the frame of Le Parfum and simply changes its colour. Next to the original, which is sunnier and more honeyed, it stays quiet and close to the skin. You can wear it at the office without bothering anyone. You also forget it fairly fast, which is the price of good manners. As a light spring rose, though, it does the job well.
When to wear it
A daytime rose for spring and a safe office choice. Use four sprays, as the eau de toilette fades in about three hours.
It belongs to the Floral, Woody family. Le Parfum Rose Couture is one of 11 creations by Elie Saab in our encyclopedia.
