Our take
What does Light di Gioia smell like?
Giorgio Armani launched Light di Gioia in 2019 as a new chapter in the Acqua di Gioia line that started in 2010. The brand frames it around golden hour on the Mediterranean. The perfumer isn't clearly credited and sources disagree. The structure is short. Bergamot opens on its own, bright and without bitterness. The heart relies on jasmine and gardenia, two white flowers that could be heavy and aren't here. Gardenia keeps a creamy edge, but everything stays sheer. The base lays down white musk and a very clean woody accord that smells like a towel dried in the sun. Compared with Acqua di Gioia and its mint and lemon, Light di Gioia is more floral and softer. The marine feel of the original is gone. It reads as fresh rather than sweet.
