Our take
What does Eros pour Femme smell like?
Versace launched Eros pour Femme in late 2014, two years after the men's version. The gold bottle is a clear break from the blue of the masculine. Three Firmenich perfumers shared the work: Alberto Morillas, Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson. The opening is lemony and sharper than expected. Pomegranate adds a tart, almost red juice. Lemon blossom, jasmine sambac and peony follow. The heart turns into a clean and bright floral that plays it safe. In the base, sandalwood and ambroxan suggest warm skin before white musks take over. Critics were not kind at launch. Now Smell This found it thin after the first fifteen minutes. People often compare it with Paco Rabanne's Lady Million, and Eros pour Femme is less honeyed and less loud. Some will call that a strength. Others will call it a flaw.
When to wear it
A daytime floral for spring and summer, quiet enough for the office. Two sprays will do, though you will need to reapply by evening.
It belongs to the Floral, Woody, Musky family. Eros pour Femme is one of 14 creations by Versace in our encyclopedia.
