What does Live Irrésistible Délicieuse smell like?
Givenchy spun off Live Irrésistible in 2017 with this Délicieuse version, composed by Dominique Ropion. The name is honest. From the first second a bold cherry sits on a madeleine accord that smells of buttery batter fresh from the oven. The cherry is loud at the start and can feel syrupy. It settles down. A bouquet of rose and orange blossom shows up, quiet enough to leave the dessert intact. Then the base takes over. Caramel and vanilla lead, bitter almond gives a frangipane edge and orris adds a powdery veil. The 2015 Live Irrésistible played pineapple and rose. Délicieuse drops the tropical fruit and heads straight to the bakery. It sits near Lancôme’s La Vie est Belle, with more cherry and less praline. It has since left the shelves, which is no great shock.
When to wear it
For winter evenings and weekends, on skin that enjoys sugar. Two sprays are plenty because it spreads fast.
