Our take
What does Fleur de Cristal smell like?
Lalique released Fleur de Cristal in 2010 to mark 150 years since René Lalique’s birth. Raphaël Haury built this eau de parfum around lily of the valley, a flower the glassmaker loved to engrave. The opening is livelier than you might expect. Bergamot and jasmine meet a pink pepper that gives a gentle sting. Lily of the valley arrives fast and takes over. It is clean and slightly soapy, lit up by stephanotis and what Osmoz calls solar floral notes. There is nothing leafy or wet about it. This is a bright white flower with a glassy edge, which suits the name. The base softens everything with light sandalwood, cashmeran and white musks. Compared with Diorissimo, the benchmark lily of the valley, Fleur de Cristal is less green and muskier. It aims at people who want a clean flower rather than a forest floor.
When to wear it
Ideal for spring at the office, since it bothers no one. Use four sprays because the musks fade fast on dry skin.
It belongs to the Floral family. Fleur de Cristal is one of 17 creations by Lalique in our encyclopedia.
