What does In Love With You Freeze smell like?
Emporio Armani launched In Love With You Freeze in January 2020, paired with Stronger With You Freeze for men. The frosted bottle sets the mood. No perfumer has been named. It was presented as a cooler reading of In Love With You, which came out in 2017. Cherry opens it, as in the original. Here it is flanked by mandarin, bergamot and pear, and that tart opening makes it feel less candied. Peony leads the heart, joined by jasmine sambac and a very clean lily of the valley. The base keeps the family patchouli, lightened with white musk, dry vetiver and woody notes. Next to In Love With You, whose trail leans on vanilla and black cherry, Freeze reads brighter and less gourmand. It still has the sweet, candy side that defines the line, and the patchouli keeps it from feeling thin.
When to wear it
A summer take on the Armani cherry, good for daytime or a terrace date. Two sprays on wrists and neck do the job.
