Our take
What does Lady Million Eau My Gold! smell like?
Four years after Lady Million, Paco Rabanne released its first flanker in June 2014. It was called Eau My Gold. Anne Flipo, who worked on the original, came back for it. The diamond-cut bottle stayed. The formula got much lighter. It opens on green mango and tart grapefruit, closer to fresh juice than to a sugary cocktail. Orange blossom follows. Violet leaf cuts through it with a green and slightly metallic edge. The honey and patchouli of Lady Million are gone. Instead the base lays down cedar, white musks and a light amber that feel clean and weightless. Anyone who found the original too syrupy finally got something wearable in August. The trade-off shows quickly. This is an eau de toilette that fades within three or four hours, and it has become hard to find in shops.
When to wear it
Spray it freely after a shower on a summer morning or before a day outdoors. Keep the bottle in your bag for a second round.
