Our take
What does Jeanne Lanvin Couture smell like?
Lanvin released Jeanne Lanvin Couture in 2012 as a variation on its Jeanne Lanvin. Domitille Bertier of IFF composed this eau de parfum, filed as a fruity floral. The opening pairs juicy raspberry with a green, slightly metallic violet leaf that keeps the fruit from turning into candy. That contrast is the best idea here. The heart opens on a very fresh peony accord and magnolia essence, lemony and creamy at once. The base stays simple. Dry cedar and soft musk hold the structure without weighing it down. The whole thing is clean, light and rather well behaved. Next to the original Jeanne Lanvin, Couture feels fresher and more floral, with less sugar. Longevity is that of a light perfume. Some retailers list it as discontinued, though it still turns up online at gentle prices.
