Our take
What does Mi Fa smell like?
Reminiscence, a brand better known for its jewellery, released Mi Fa in 2008 together with Do Re in a line called Les Notes Gourmandes. Jacques Flori composed it with the late Zoé Coste of Reminiscence. The whole idea revolves around marshmallow. The opening is unexpected. Sugary marshmallow rubs against bergamot, mandarin and bitter almond. Mint, lavender and rosemary keep it from turning into candy. The heart is more floral. Neroli, petitgrain and jasmine mix there, with a black pepper that prickles a little. The base settles on soft vanilla and tonka. Musk, sandalwood and Virginia cedar fill it out. It is an odd mix on paper and works better than you would think. The powdery sweet shop feel lasts to the end. Hypnotic Poison also plays almond and vanilla. Mi Fa is lighter and more herbal by comparison, almost childlike.
When to wear it
A weekend gourmand for autumn days. Three sprays will do, and the marshmallow lingers on clothes.
It belongs to the Gourmand family. Mi Fa is one of 20 creations by Reminiscence in our encyclopedia.
