Our take
What does Eau Hyper Fraîche smell like?
Courrèges introduced Eau Hyper Fraîche in 2017 as a summer eau de toilette meant for anyone. Fabrice Pellegrin composed it. The start is icy. Bergamot and mandarin lead, with lemon pushing the bitterness of the peel. An aldehydic accord, almost metallic, recalls coriander. The heart keeps the chill. Petitgrain smells like a crushed leaf, jasmine stays light and mint blows cool air through it. Then a chypre base slowly appears. Moss, cedar and patchouli give it staying power without adding weight. Auparfum placed it between Eau de Rochas and Hermès' Eau d'Orange Verte. The comparison holds: it is less soapy than the first and more herbal than the second. The modest price makes it an easy summer recommendation. Expect it to fade within a few hours. That is the price of real freshness, and here it feels worth paying.
When to wear it
For hot days, sprayed freely after a shower. Reapply in the afternoon like any good cologne.
It belongs to the Citrus, Aromatic family. Eau Hyper Fraîche is one of 9 creations by Courrèges in our encyclopedia.
