Our take
What does Dragée smell like?
Reminiscence released Dragée in 2012 as part of its Les Notes Gourmandes collection. The name says it all: the sugar-coated almonds handed out at French christenings and weddings. It comes as an eau de parfum. Mandarin leads, but cardamom is what you notice. It gives a spicy and almost camphor-like freshness, and petitgrain extends it with a green line. The heart moves to almond. You get almond blossom and sugared almond, while orange blossom adds the pastry shop side. A plum note brings some fruity roundness. The base is simple, just vanilla with musk and cedar. The cedar dries out the finish a little, which keeps it from turning sickly. Longevity is decent for an eau de parfum, about half a day on skin. It is one of the more affordable almond scents around. Lighter than Mugler's Angel, Dragée goes for soft and familiar sweetness rather than the caramel and patchouli shock.
When to wear it
A comfort scent for autumn and winter weekends. Two sprays on a sweater are enough, as the vanilla clings to fabric for hours.
It belongs to the Floral, Gourmand, Fruity family. Dragée is one of 20 creations by Reminiscence in our encyclopedia.
