Our take
What does Rem smell like?
Reminiscence was founded in Juan-les-Pins in 1970 and launched Rem in 1996. The perfumer has never been confirmed. The opening plays the nineties marine card with a calone-style salt water note mixed with lilac, jasmine and rose. It smells like flowers left on a wet rock. The heart takes an odd turn. Patchouli and above all fenugreek bring a spiced, slightly syrupy side close to maple syrup. That detail gives Rem its personality. The base heads down to the beach. Musk, tonka and vanilla evoke warm skin after a day in the sun. Compared with L'Eau d'Issey, another marine floral of the same period, Rem is warmer and more gourmand. Men wear it as easily as women. The fenugreek grows stronger after an hour, so the scent ends far sweeter than it begins. Some find that part sticky.
When to wear it
Wear it in summer, on holiday or at weekends, on tanned skin. Three sprays last the day.
It belongs to the Floral, Aquatic family. Rem is one of 20 creations by Reminiscence in our encyclopedia.
