Our take
What does Ô de l'Orangerie smell like?
In spring 2011 Lancôme marked forty-two years of Ô de Lancôme with a variation devoted to orange blossom. Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion composed it. The eau de toilette opens on bergamot and orange zest, cooled by an aquatic note. Picture an orange grove just after watering. The heart keeps the promise. Orange blossom leads, backed by neroli and a light jasmine. It smells clean and sunny with a slightly soapy edge. The base is thin. A little benzoin adds softness and cedar draws a dry woody line. The original Ô de Lancôme is greener and more aromatic. This one focuses on a single flower. You could also set it beside Le Labo's Fleur d'Oranger 27, which is far more complex and far more expensive. It is a scent for the first warm days.
When to wear it
Spray it generously in summer, on skin and clothes. It rarely lasts past three hours.
It belongs to the Floral family. Ô de l'Orangerie is one of 25 creations by Lancôme in our encyclopedia.
