What does Femme smell like?
Edmond Roudnitska composed Femme for Marcel Rochas in 1944, in a Paris still living with shortages, and it became one of the fruity chypres that shaped the genre. Its signature is plum, dark and fleshy, softened by peach and sharpened at first by a bergamot twist. The floral heart of rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang stays wrapped in that fruit pulp, with a faintly skin-like, almost animalic warmth. Then oakmoss arrives, earthy and cool, carried by warm amber and a musk that keeps everything close to the body. This is a perfume of flesh and velvet, grown-up and unhurried, uninterested in pleasing everyone.

Best on autumn evenings and intimate occasions; it speaks to lovers of vintage chypres and perfumes with real character.
