What does Tobacco Oud smell like?
Released in 2013 in Tom Ford’s Private Blend collection, Tobacco Oud combines two of the brand’s favourite themes, tobacco and oud, in a dark, woody composition. The opening is warm and boozy: an amber whisky, spiked with cinnamon, suggests a glass of malt by the hearth. The heart brings rich, almost honeyed tobacco, smoky oud and a balsamic benzoin that smooths everything over. Sandalwood, patchouli and castoreum add animalic, leathery depth to the base. It conjures a private club with wood-panelled walls, leather armchairs and cigar smoke. A dense, sophisticated scent that blooms in cold weather.
When to wear it
For winter evenings and special occasions, in measured doses. It suits lovers of tobacco, oud and dark woody scents.
