Our take
What does Mon Paris Couture smell like?
Yves Saint Laurent launched Mon Paris Couture in early 2018, two years after Mon Paris. The house pitched it as a sparkling citrus take on the original. The bottle wears a silver ribbon inspired by haute couture. It opens with lychee and raspberry plus three citrus notes: bergamot, mandarin and grapefruit. The effect is tarter than the strawberry of Mon Paris. Grapefruit gives it a slightly bitter snap that the original never had. The heart gathers white peony, rosebud and orange blossom. The base keeps the line's structure with patchouli, white musk, ambrox and cashmeran. It is a little lighter and a little less sweet. Patchouli still anchors it, so it never feels thin. Next to the 2016 Mon Paris, Couture feels fresher and fizzier. The family resemblance is obvious by the second hour.
When to wear it
A fruity scent for spring and warm days. Use two or three sprays, since it is quieter than the original.
It belongs to the Chypre, Fruity family. Mon Paris Couture is one of 35 creations by Yves Saint Laurent in our encyclopedia.
