Our take
What does Rose Goldea smell like?
Bvlgari launched Rose Goldea in July 2016, a year after Goldea, and handed the formula to Alberto Morillas. The bottle keeps the golden shape of a line inspired by the house's jewellery. The theme holds no surprise. It is rose. Pomegranate opens on a tart red note, pulled toward freshness by bergamot. Then comes the flower. Damask rose absolute settles in with jasmine grandiflorum and a peony that adds transparency. The rose stays smooth and clean, with no spice and no jammy side. The base lives up to the line's name. Musk, creamy sandalwood and frankincense create a golden and slightly resinous halo that suggests warm skin. Goldea relied on a sunny, ambery musk. Rose Goldea keeps that structure and puts the flower up front. The result is polished, maybe too polished.
When to wear it
A versatile rose for daytime or dinner. Two sprays will do, and the musk lingers on clothes.
It belongs to the Floral, Musky family. Rose Goldea is one of 4 creations by Bvlgari in our encyclopedia.
