Our take
What does Man in Black smell like?
Alberto Morillas created Man in Black for Bvlgari in 2014 as an eau de parfum. The house files it under ambery spicy. It opens on a warm spice accord and an amber rum note, sweet and boozy, which sets the mood straight away. The heart is less expected in a men's scent. Tuberose absolute brings a creamy, slightly carnal texture, set against a supple leather accord. The two play off each other well, and the flower never takes over. The base gathers Siam benzoin with its vanilla-resin glow, smoky guaiac wood and tonka. On skin it conjures a dim bar, worn leather and the bottom of a glass. It radiates comfortably for the first few hours, then stays close all evening.
When to wear it
Evenings in autumn and winter, for dinner or a dressier night out. Two sprays are enough.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber, Spicy family. Man in Black is one of 4 creations by Bvlgari in our encyclopedia.
