Our take
What does Osez-Moi smell like?
Chantal Thomass launched Osez-Moi in 2009, seven years after her first perfume. The name promises boldness. The opening brings together musky rose, frangipani and violet leaf. It feels floral and slightly green, never shrill. Rhubarb then arrives and gives the scent its real personality. Tart and almost crunchy, it sits beside peony, with a light vanilla slipping in underneath. The base stays classic with musk, amber and patchouli. It smells like clean, warm skin, which is pleasant if not very daring. Compared with the first Chantal Thomass, Osez-Moi is less fruity and less dark. It trades red fruit and black violet for a paler rose. That makes it easier to wear and also less memorable. One retailer notes the formula has changed since launch, which may explain mixed reports about how long it lasts.
