What does Coach Platinum smell like?
Coach launched Platinum in summer 2018, a year after its first men’s fragrance. Bruno Jovanovic composed this eau de parfum, aimed at an adventurous man according to the brand. The opening mixes pineapple and juniper berries. Black pepper and sage stop the fruit from going syrupy. For a moment the dry pineapple recalls Creed Aventus from 2010. The comparison ends quickly. The heart heads toward leather with rosy geranium, patchouli and cashmeran, a synthetic wood with a woolly feel. The base works best. Soft suede, light vanilla and an ambery note give a clean warmth without weight. The perfume stays easy to read from start to finish. Its main flaw is a lack of surprise, since every stage arrives on cue. Longevity is fair for the price. On skin it lasts a solid working day.

A versatile men’s scent for autumn and winter, for evenings or weekends. Three sprays on the neck and chest.
