Our take
What does Coach for Men smell like?
Coach for Men launched in September 2017, a year after Coach The Fragrance for women. Actor James Franco fronted the campaign. Anne Flipo and Bruno Jovanovic of IFF composed this fresh woody eau de toilette. The opening is all about nashi pear, green and juicy. Bergamot and kumquat add a zesty bite. The heart warms up with cardamom and coriander. Geranium brings a slightly peppery floral touch that men's perfumery has always liked. The base is softer than you might expect. Haitian vetiver stays in the background, suede gives a supple skin texture and ambergris rounds it off. Next to Terre d'Hermès, another fresh woody scent, Coach for Men is fruitier and much less mineral. It aims for easy wearing and makes no secret of it. The bottle borrows the brand's leather goods codes, including the turnlock clasp.
When to wear it
A weekday scent for the office or lunch outdoors. Three sprays in the morning will do, though you may want a top-up by late afternoon.
It belongs to the Woody, Aromatic family. Coach for Men is one of 11 creations by Coach in our encyclopedia.
