Our take
What does Coach Man Blue smell like?
Coach launched Coach Blue in 2020, a men's eau de toilette produced under license by Interparfums. Perfumer Juliette Karagueuzoglou, who has worked on other fragrances for the brand, is credited. The opening is the best part. Sharp lime rubs up against absinthe, and its green bitterness gives the freshness some shape. The heart moves to an ozonic accord, that clean sea air smell familiar since the 1990s. Black pepper prickles through it so the effect isn't too smooth. The base keeps it simple. Cedar and amber, dry and a little warm. The retailer Dillard's files it under watery fougères, which sums it up well. It recalls Bleu de Chanel in mood and Acqua di Giò in its sea air, without the depth of one or the signature of the other. This is a perfume built to please a wide audience.
When to wear it
A daytime scent for spring and summer, at the office or on weekends. Three sprays on the neck and chest are enough.
It belongs to the Aquatic, Aromatic family. Coach Man Blue is one of 11 creations by Coach in our encyclopedia.
