Our take
What does Dreams smell like?
Coach released Dreams in 2020 around the theme of an American road trip through the desert. Four perfumers signed it: Antoine Maisondieu, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, Olivier Pescheux and Shyamala Maisondieu. The opening pairs bitter orange with a very juicy pear. The bitterness of the peel balances the fruit's sugar. In the heart, gardenia brings a creamy texture while cactus flower adds a watery green feel. The base is built around a Joshua Tree accord that suggests dry, slightly dusty wood. Ambroxan carries the drydown with its warm, salty skin effect. It stays bright from start to finish. It shares an airy fruity side with Marc Jacobs' Daisy Dream, but Dreams is more ambery and lasts longer. Antoine Maisondieu, one of the four, also signed Coach Love three years later. It works best in heat, where the pear and cactus feel most natural.
When to wear it
An easy fruity scent for warm days, from the office to the weekend. Three sprays on the neck and wrists last the day.
