What does The One Gold smell like?
Dolce & Gabbana dressed The One in gold in 2021. The full name is The One Gold Eau de Parfum Intense, and the bottle keeps the lines of the original in deep gold lacquer. The house names no perfumer, and retailers disagree on who made it. The official site sums it up in three notes: plum, rose and jasmine. The opening is a dark, ripe plum, brightened a little by the mandarin and pink pepper that retailers list. The heart sets down a frank rose with a headier jasmine behind it. The base of patchouli, vanilla and white musk brings a powdery warmth that lasts. The 2006 The One was sunnier, built on peach and vanilla. The One Gold is darker and more floral. It knows it is dressed up and aims at evenings, not the morning commute.
When to wear it
For a winter dinner or a party, sprayed on the chest. Two sprays, because the plum and patchouli fill the space quickly.
