Our take
What does Armani Eau de Nuit smell like?
Armani launched Eau de Nuit in 2013, a men's eau de toilette by Marie Salamagne. It belongs to the oriental fougère family, dressed for evening. The opening pairs Peruvian pepper, which is pink pepper, with bergamot. It's fizzy and a little fruity. The heart is the best part of the whole composition, by some distance. Iris comes across powdery and slightly earthy, cardamom keeps it cool, and nutmeg warms it from below. Heliotrope adds a hint of almond and a soft, powdery glow. Tonka, amber and cedar make up the base, sweet but never sugary. On skin the whole thing suggests a clean shirt under a wool jacket. Compared with Dior Homme, the other big men's iris of that era, Eau de Nuit is spicier and has much less cocoa. Projection stays moderate and close to the body.
When to wear it
