Our take
What does Emporio Armani Diamonds smell like?
Giorgio Armani launched Emporio Armani Diamonds in 2007. Thierry Wasser, who would join Guerlain the following year, composed it. The opening pairs lychee with raspberry, a watery sweet red fruit very typical of the decade. The heart is built around rose, with lily of the valley and freesia for sheerness. Nothing heady. In the base, amber and vanilla warm everything up while vetiver, cedar and patchouli add some woody backbone. The overall feel is 2000s youth, cheerful and a little sugary. Close in spirit to Miss Dior Chérie from two years earlier, it swaps caramelized strawberry for a fresher lychee. It has aged better than you might fear. Raspberry leads for the first half hour, then rose takes over with the softness of a crushed petal. The finish is warm without being heavy.
When to wear it
A daytime fruity floral that also works for a casual night out. Three sprays on wrist and neck are plenty.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Emporio Armani Diamonds is one of 46 creations by Giorgio Armani in our encyclopedia.
