Our take
What does Live Irrésistible Rosy Crush smell like?
Givenchy introduced Live Irrésistible Rosy Crush in February 2019, just in time for Valentine's Day. The house called it a floral eau de parfum and handed the formula to Dominique Ropion. It opens on fruit. Goji berries bring a red tartness somewhere between redcurrant and cranberry, and pink pepper prickles at the top of the nose. Then the rose shows up, bright and fresh. A watery peony keeps it from turning into jam, and there is no powder anywhere. The base is thoroughly modern. Scrubbed patchouli, salty ambroxan and white musk leave a clean trail that recalls a sweater fresh out of the wash. Compared with Chloé eau de parfum, another pale best-selling rose, Rosy Crush is fruitier and far less powdery. It plainly targets a younger wearer who wants rose without the grandmother associations.
When to wear it
Good for a spring day or a first date on a terrace. Two sprays on the wrists are plenty since the ambroxan projects well.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Live Irrésistible Rosy Crush is one of 40 creations by Givenchy in our encyclopedia.
