Our take
What does La Petite Robe Noire Nectar smell like?
In early 2021 Guerlain released La Petite Robe Noire Nectar as a limited edition in 30 and 50 ml. No perfumer was named for this version. Bright bergamot opens alongside sweet almond, almost marzipan. Rose follows, coated in honey. That honey makes the heart sticky and golden, a long way from the tart rose of the 2012 original. The base goes gourmand. Tonka and vanilla spread over patchouli that keeps a little earth beneath the sugar. Set against La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum, Nectar drops the cherry and the smoky tea. It reads more like a classic floral oriental, cosier and less playful. As a limited run it is hard to find today. The bottle keeps the little black dress shape of the line. On warm skin the honey grows louder, and the almond fades after an hour.
When to wear it
For winter nights, ideally on dry skin that holds the honey well. Two sprays are more than enough.
It belongs to the Floral, Gourmand family. La Petite Robe Noire Nectar is one of 89 creations by Guerlain in our encyclopedia.
