Our take
What does Boss Bottled Absolute smell like?
Late in 2019 Hugo Boss released Boss Bottled Absolute as a limited edition. Annick Ménardo, who wrote the 1998 Boss Bottled, composed it. The goal was a denser original for winter. The apple is still there at the top, now with bergamot and a darker plum. Cinnamon then runs the heart alongside cashmere wood and cedar. The Bottled DNA is easy to spot, only warmer. The base blends olive wood, sandalwood, vanilla and musk. It is round and woody, and fairly sweet too. Don't confuse it with Boss Bottled Absolu, a newer parfum intense built on leather and incense. Compared with Boss Bottled Intense, the plum and vanilla make Absolute more gourmand. For fans of the original it is a well-judged holiday version. It has become hard to find since it left the shelves.
When to wear it
Wear it on winter evenings under a coat or a roll-neck. Two sprays are enough, the vanilla projects well.
It belongs to the Woody, Spicy family. Boss Bottled Absolute is one of 35 creations by Hugo Boss in our encyclopedia.
