Our take
What does Only The Brave Street smell like?
Diesel added Only The Brave Street to the Only The Brave family in 2016. The bottle keeps the glass fist of the 2009 original, this time in grey. The opening has a surprising vegetable-garden feel. Basil leads, bergamot brightens it and green apple adds crunch. The heart is darker. Cardamom meets licorice, whose aniseed bitterness gives the scent its character. A marine accord runs in the background, more mineral than salty. Cedar, vetiver and vanilla form the base. The vetiver stays dry and earthy, and the vanilla rounds it off without ever turning sweet. Compared with the original Only The Brave, which leans leathery and ambery, Street feels greener and more urban. The name fits. It smells a bit like pavement after a shower. Longevity is average, and the licorice is the last thing you notice by evening.
