What does Boss Bottled Marine smell like?
Coty launched Boss Bottled Marine in 2022 as a limited edition. Chris Hemsworth fronted the campaign. Sophie Labbé and Honorine Blanc composed it. The name promises the sea, but the note list barely delivers. It opens on frozen apple and spearmint. The freshness is crisp, almost like chewing gum. Clary sage and cinnamon take over next. That is the frame of the 1998 Boss Bottled, which already paired apple with cinnamon. The base stays woody, with cashmere wood, patchouli and sandalwood. It is dry and smooth. The frosted blue bottle carries most of the marine idea. Next to Giorgio Armani's Acqua di Giò, there is nothing aquatic here in the usual sense. Think of it as a summer Bottled, likeable but forgettable. The spearmint is the one detail that gives it some personality, and it fades within the hour.
When to wear it
A holiday scent for daytime or weekends. Three sprays in the morning and a top-up in the afternoon.
