Our take
What does Boss Bottled Unlimited smell like?
Hugo Boss released Boss Bottled Unlimited in 2014 as a fresher spin on the 1998 Boss Bottled, aimed at a more active wearer. No perfumer is officially credited. Mint opens it, cold and clean. Grapefruit follows with its usual bitterness, and violet leaf adds a slightly earthy green edge. The heart is less predictable. Pineapple brings a tropical tang. A light rose and a pinch of cinnamon then nod, from a distance, to the original Bottled. The base stays modest with resinous cistus and white musk over sandalwood. It reads as clean skin more than a real woody trail, and it stays close to the body after the first hour. Boss Bottled leans on apple and warm cinnamon, while Unlimited bets everything on freshness. It gains lightness but loses much of the character that made the classic sell.
When to wear it
Good for the gym, a summer office or a sunny weekend. Four sprays is not too many, because it fades within a few hours.
It belongs to the Fougère, Aromatic family. Boss Bottled Unlimited is one of 35 creations by Hugo Boss in our encyclopedia.
