Our take
What does Legend smell like?
Montblanc launched Legend in 2011, composed by Olivier Pescheux. It is an aromatic fougère that owns its cleanliness. The launch pyramid opens on lavender and bergamot, sharpened by pineapple leaf and a lemony exotic verbena. The heart brings together geranium, a quiet rose and a crisp apple. Coumarin, with its scent of cut hay and almond, ties everything together. A modern oakmoss accord adds a faintly earthy undertone. The base is short and soft: sandalwood and tonka. On skin, Legend smells like premium shower gel and a warm towel, with no rough edges. Montblanc's current product pages show a slightly different pyramid, which suggests some adjustments since 2011. Its fair price and crowd-pleasing profile explain why so many bathroom shelves carry it.
