Our take
What does Aqua Kenzo pour Homme smell like?
Kenzo launched Aqua Kenzo pour Homme in spring 2018 alongside a women’s version. Ane Ayo and Philippe Romano revisited the idea behind L’Eau Kenzo pour Homme, the 1999 aquatic, for a younger crowd. The opening is crunchy. Juicy green apple and a pinch of pink pepper set a fruity tone straight away. The brand talks about pink berries and walnut leaves, and that leafy side is what makes the heart worth smelling. A nutty hazelnut facet and a hint of sesame blend into the aquatic accord, like wet bark. The base rests on what Kenzo calls a new-generation sandalwood, drier than it is creamy. Cedar, amber, tonka and musk fill in around it. None of it feels heavy. Compared with L’Eau Kenzo pour Homme, which is more lemony and minty, Aqua Kenzo comes across sweeter and woodier.
