Our take
What does Mimosa pour Moi smell like?
L’Artisan Parfumeur released Mimosa pour Moi in 1992. Anne Flipo composed this soliflore at a time when the house liked to isolate one material, as it would again with Premier Figuier two years later. The opening is green. Violet leaf and blackcurrant bud give a sharp tang of crushed stem. Then the mimosa opens up. You get the yellow, powdery puff with its dry honey and pollen side, the smell of Riviera flower stalls in winter. A little acacia and jasmine support it while lilac adds a dewy freshness. The base stays light. Heliotrope stretches the powder with a hint of almond. Vanilla, cedar and musk then form a soft, clean bed. Nothing spills over. It is airier than Guerlain’s Champs-Élysées and smells more like the flower than like a perfume. Its weakness is restraint, since it never strays far from the skin.
When to wear it
Wear it in late winter and spring, during the day. Spray it on a wool sweater, where the powder lasts far longer than on skin.
It belongs to the Floral, Green family. Mimosa pour Moi is one of 5 creations by L'Artisan Parfumeur in our encyclopedia.
